<li><strong>Less Sugar. </strong>If you have had a pumpkin spice latte from Starbucks or any other coffee shop, you know that they are typically really sweet. Honestly, too sweet for my tastes. This recipe is sweet, but not overly so, and you can adjust the sweetener to make it perfect for you. </li>



<li><strong>Real Pumpkin. </strong>Pumpkin is good for you, and coffee shop pumpkin lattes don't even have any real pumpkin in them! This recipe includes pureed pumpkin and all-natural ingredients. </li>



<li><strong>Tips and Tricks. </strong>I'll teach you how to make the best and easiest iced pumpkin spice latte at home, and I'll tell you how I make the pumpkin syrup ahead of time so I can make lattes all week long.</li>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Tips and Tricks for Making The Best Iced Pumpkin Spice Latte</h2>



<ul class="wp-block-list">
<li><strong>Coffee or Espresso. </strong>While freshly brewed espresso is a must for a traditional latte, you don't need to stress if you don't have an espresso machine. This recipe works with real espresso, instant espresso, really strong brewed coffee, or even your favorite cold brew. </li>



<li><strong>Any Milk Works!</strong> Use regular dairy milk, or your favorite non-dairy milk to make your latte. I find that oat milk froths up the best if you want to make a super creamy vegan pumpkin spice latte. </li>



<li><strong>Sweetener Options: </strong>It's best to use a liquid sweetener when you're making iced lattes. Granulated sugar will have a hard time dissolving in cold liquid. Maple syrup is my choice, but you can also use honey or agave in this drink. </li>



<li><strong>Make Ahead Tip.</strong> You can make a <a href="https://vegetarianmamma.com/pumpkin-syrup/">Pumpkin Syrup</a> that includes all of the ingredients here except for the coffee and milk. Keep it in the fridge so you're ready to make pumpkin spice lattes any time!</li>

Granulated sweeteners like white sugar, brown sugar, etc. do not combine with milk as easily. </span></li>

<p class="has-medium-font-size">Chai is a traditional drink that dates back almost 5,000 years. This delicious drink has been used as a medicinal and recreational drink for years, and for good reason, it's delicious! </p>



<p class="has-medium-font-size"><strong>Warm notes from cinnamon, ginger, cloves, and anise meld with the earthiness of black tea to make the perfect chai from scratch. </strong>We are adding vegan milk, maple syrup, and espresso and then icing it down to create a coffeeshop masterpiece at home. </p>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-how-to-make-an-iced-chai-tea-latte">HOW TO MAKE AN ICED CHAI TEA LATTE</h3>



<ol class="wp-block-list">
<li>In a mortar and pestle, <strong>crush the cardamom pods, cloves, star anise, and peppercorns.</strong> Place the crushed spices in a small pot. </li>



<li><strong>Add ginger slices, cinnamon sticks, black tea bags, and water. Bring to a boil </strong>and then immediately remove from heat and remove the tea bags from the water. Let stand for at least 20 minutes. </li>



<li>Pour the Mixture through a strainer to separate the spices from the tea. </li>



<li>To assemble your iced chai tea latte, first make two espresso shots. In each of two mugs add ½ cup of the chai mixture, ½ cup of milk 2 tablespoons of maple syrup, and 1 shot of expresso, and a few ice cubes. <strong>Stir to combine and enjoy. </strong></li>

<p class="has-medium-font-size">What we're making here is technically an iced "dirty" chai latte. They call it dirty when they add a shot of espresso in. If you leave it out, you'll have a regular iced chai latte, and it will be amazing. </p>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-why-is-chai-latte-so-sweet">WHY IS CHAI LATTE SO SWEET? </h3>



<p class="has-medium-font-size">I find that when I order Chai Lattes in coffeeshops they are generally too sweet for my taste. The two tablespoons of maple syrup in each latte for this recipe makes it the perfect sweetness for me, but if you aren't sure, just add one tablespoon, taste it, and increase if you need to. </p>
