Chili Cheese Dog Muffins are the perfect snack to your game day feast. These little muffins pack on the flavor with added chili and toppings!
As fall is in full effect here in Ohio, the temps are starting to get cooler. I LOVE to create some fall inspired game day dishes this time of the year!
For me, nothing says “game day food” more than chili.
We recently created these easy and delicious Chili Cheese Dog Muffins, which are the perfect snack or meal for game day!
These muffins are extremely easy to make and will impress your family and friends!
We LOVE Enjoy Life Foods!
The base of our muffins start with our favorite muffin mix. We used Enjoy Life Foods muffin mix. This mix is actually free of the TOP8 major allergens and even more!
Thank you for ELF for sponsoring this post!
The muffins also have 5 grams of protein per serving! The muffin mix has no artificial ingredients, which our family loves!
They also taste delicious! So you can’t beat that! The mix only requires water and oil. That’s it. No egg!
So we mixed up our Enjoy Life Foods Muffin mix and poured it into an oiled muffin tin.
Then we took some dogs, you can use veggie or meat. You pick. Cut into 1 inch pieces and stuck down into the muffin mix.
Then on half the muffins, we added in some dairy-free cheese. We used a cheddar, but you are welcome to make it your OWN with your favorite cheese!
Then you bake! We baked ours for 12 minutes at 350 degrees F!
Game Day Food!
Oh boy, your kitchen is going to smell amazing. This muffin mix is THE best! Then with some cheese added in and some pieces of hot dog, you are golden!
Just try not to eat one when they come out of the oven! I dare you! They smell so good! Give them a few minutes to cool down a bit.
Then move the muffins to plates, so you can officially make them into chili cheese dog muffins!
This is the FUN part!
So we are starting with our solo muffin here. I choose one with added in cheese, because well I like cheese!
I was pretty impressed how this dairy-free cheese melted!
Then we are adding in some chili. You can use whatever you’d like here.
I used a canned chili, because my time is limited. If you don’t have a canned chili that you like or one that is safe for your dietary needs, you can make chili from scratch.
If you are looking for a delicious chili, I recommend this sweet vegetarian chili!
Then you can add some diced green onion and fresh cilantro on top of your chili cheese dog muffins. I love adding fresh herbs to my cooking!
Fresh herbs add flavor!
Then if you are feeling really spunky and you LOVE cheese, you can add more! I mean the options are endless! Right!?
I also have this delicious dairy-free sour cream that I adore and probably use way too much on my dishes…but I’d suggest adding in some sour cream if you love it too!
Can you just taste it? YUM!
Love slicing open the chili cheese dog muffins and finding the “dog” hiding inside! Just another pop of flavor and texture for this game day food!
Or if you don’t like all the jazz of toppings or to make it more kid friendly just eat it plain. Take the muffin with the dog already inside and enjoy!
Plain and simple!
