Are Chow Mein Noodles Gluten-Free?
Normally chow mein noodles are made with wheat noodles. You will have to check the labels and make sure you are buying gluten-free chow mein if you need to avoid gluten.
How to Make Vegan Chocolate Haystacks
Typically, chocolate haystacks are made with milk chocolate. But I wanted these to be allergy-friendly and dairy-free. To do that, I found some nut-free butter from Don’t Go Nuts.
Then, I used dairy-free chocolate. It might take a little bit of effort and you might have to find the ingredients online, but it’s possible.
Melt chocolate, butter and Don’t Go Nuts butter over low heat.
When melted stir in chow mein noodles.
Stir until completely covered in chocolate.
Gently place “stacks” of noodles onto parchment paper.
Freeze for 15 minutes or in the fridge for 30 minutes.
ENJOY! These won’t last long, they are yummy. Store in fridge.
How Long Will They Last In the Freezer or Refrigerator?
Since these are made with chocolate, they need to stay in either the freezer or refrigerator so they don’t melt.
They will last about 3 months in the freezer or about 1 month in the refrigerator.
