Columbia Woodlands is Ohio’s best place to go Glamping. If you are into glamorous camping, you have got to check out what Columbia Woodlands has to offer!
I really do not know where to begin with this post. I am so excited to tell you about one of our latest adventures. I mean, I almost hesitate to tell you because this place is such a gem that I want it all to myself. But you know, I love you and I love to share! So let’s do this!
So what am I talking about? My family recently went glamping over the 4th of July at Columbia Woodlands! It was actually something that my youngest asked to do instead of a birthday party this year. So the little guy waited from May until July 4th to get his birthday experience. Yes, he did get special stuff back on his day in May but THIS was the ultimate birthday celebration.
What is glamping?
Basically glamping is fancy camping. You are mostly likely going to have electricity and running water when glamping. We even had a beautiful tiled shower in our glamping tent and thankfully an air conditioning unit.
Right, I did say AC! So do I camp differently than you? Ha! Typically glamping does provide many amenties that you would not have in a tent camping situation however often times tv and wifi are avoided. Glamping is still a place to relax and unwind! Sometimes a digital detox is good!
Where is Columbia Woodlands?
Columbia Woodlands is a 400 acre property located in Dover, Ohio. I actually stumbled upon this proptery a few years back when I took the kids’ grandmas out for a memory making trip! I had searched on VRBO for a home that had 3 bedrooms near Holmes County.
The Rock Path Cabin at this location came up as an option (there weren’t many). It looked nice so I took a chance. When we arrived we were BLOWN away, the house and property was WAY better than what was listed. This place is unreal.
More about Glamping at Columbia Woodlands
Seriously, this place is my kinda of place. Theone that you dream of. When I booked our reservation online the confirmation email asked a few questions. Such as what size robe would you like, what type of music would you like playing when you arrive and would you like red or white wine upon arrival? Say what? YES that is my kind of place!
The staff at Columbus Woodlands are great communicators. They have an onite chef, that does great with food restrictions. WE didn’t fully take advantage of this as we brought food to cook over the campfire, but we did enjoy breakfast on our final day!
We stayed in the Red Feather Tent. The Red Feather Tent is the biggest of the glamping tents. It features two king beds!
The Meadows is where the four glamping tents are positioned on the property. Each tent is private and you have theoption of renting a golf cart to drive around the property when there (highly recommend) The tenters all have access to the pavilion.
WHOA, this isn’t your average pavilion. It has a “camp host” that will take care of your needs. It has tables which are beautifully decorated, leather couches, a fireplace, fridge, two grills and more!
We had some complimentary peach sangria waiting for us upon arrival! I mean, anything you needed it was already provided for you. This place is amazingly unreal.
The pavilion has curtains to draw if it is windy or rainy. We did have a rain storm hit where there and the curtains worked great. You can watched the sunset through the glass roof of the pavilion!
This was one of the amazing places on the property you can visit. This place has it all. At many springs lake, you can enjoy a campfire near the chalet with a glass of wine, have dinner on their new dock, fish from the dock, jump in the water, use the canoe or infaltables, etc THEY provide it all!
I love this location. I love being so high up and seeing so much. You might remember our facebook live about watching for fireworks on the 4th of July at Ceremony Hill. Phew it was HOT!
There is so much to do at Columbia Woodlands! Be sure to check it out!
