If you are into gluten free Christmas goodies, you might also want to try no bake cornflake cookies, caramel apple salad and homemade tagalongs.

I love that you can make this peppermint bark recipe last minute or you can prep it ahead of time. This easy peppermint bark can be made in minutes! The trouble will be trying not to eat it all in one setting!

Sometimes around the holidays, you need a quick sweet treat and this peppermint bark recipe is my go-to. It is super kid friendly that even your children can help you with this homemade peppermint bark recipe!

Instructions for homemade peppermint bark:

  1. Spread parchment paper on a lipped baking sheet.
  2. Line up grahams on the cookie sheet on top of the parchment paper.
  3. Unwrap candy canes and place into a baggie. Using a wooden rolling pin, smash the candy canes into little pieces.
  4. Melt chocolate in a sauce pan over low heat. Stir continually until melted, then gently spread the melted chocolate on top of grams.
  5. Top the chocolate layer with the smashed candy cane pieces.
  6. Put the cookie sheet into the freezer or let it sit on the counter until the chocolate sets.
  7. Once chocolate is set, break the bark into pieces and ENJOY!

Let’s talk about graham crackers!

Our favorite, honeygrams, (affiliate ad link)  are gluten-free and made by Schar. These NonGMO grams are simply perfect! They are tasty as a stand alone or with a recipe like this one! If you haven’t tried them yet, you are missing out. Side note: just think about how awesome Smores night will be with these!

Tips for Peppermint Bark:

  • Use crushed up candy canes or peppermint candies
  • Crush your candy in a resealable baggie and use a wooden rolling pin to smash the candy
  • Line your lipped cookie sheet with parchment paper
  • If you prefer milk chocolate or dark chocolate you can use those
  • If you store your peppermint bark in the fridge, it should last 2-3 weeks.
  • You can use MORE chocolate if you’d like your chocolate layer to be thicker!
