Molly Woos Asian Bistro has long been a favorite of mine even before I had to make the move to a gluten free diet. The food at this Cameron Mitchell restaurant has always been spot on for me. Molly Woo’s Polaris is located at the Polaris Fashion Mall in Columbus Ohio. The location of this restaurant is awesome because you can do your shopping and then end at Molly Woo’s for dinner, or grab lunch there with friends and hit a few stores. There are some other good Polaris restaurants, but when I’m at the mall I always choose Molly Woo’s.
You can dine inside or out. Both settings are fantastic. The inside is decorated with beautiful red interior including red lanterns that hang from the ceiling. It’s the perfect setting for enjoying an Asian meal. The red lanterns, Asian artifacts, and high ceilings provide amazing ambiance. I love to sit on the patio when the weather cooperates! What can be better than enjoying a summer drink on a patio while eating delicious gluten free sushi and other Pan-Asian food?
Molly Woos has a full bar, so you can get your adult drink on if you need! I enjoy a cocktail from time to time, and during happy hour, umbrella drinks like this one are only five dollars.
Molly Woo’s Kids Menu
This restaurant is also very kid friendly and does have a kid friendly menu. The kids menu here has the basics (chicken fingers, buttered noodles), as well as some more sophisticated dishes in kid sized portions. I love that they include fresh fruit juices on the kids menu too. There is something on Molly Woo’s menu for everyone in your family to enjoy.
My favorite starter at Molly Woo’s – “Asian Peanuts”, or edamame. I can’t get enough edamame, especially at Molly Woos. There is just something amazing about these hot green guys that are topped with salt! YUM! Edamame are young soybeans inside their pods, so they make a fun finger food that you can share with the whole table.
What to Order From the Gluten Free Menu at Molly Woo’s
My go to dish is always the tofu fried rice. Be sure to let your server know that you are ordering from the gluten free menu. Typically this dish is served with crispy tofu, which is a NO NO if you are gluten free. Be sure to get the steamed tofu instead!
The special gluten free menu includes sushi rolls, chicken, beef, seafood, and tofu dishes. It also has fried rice and some yummy sounding noodle dishes! I need to ask next time if they can make the Pad Thai vegetarian. If so, that’s what I’m ordering.
I always find the servers at Molly Woo’s very accomodating to my dietary needs and preferences, which is a huge deal for me. I always appreciate restaurants and their staff that understand gluten sensitivity and celiac disease and work hard to accommodate us.
If you don’t have a gluten sensitivity, there is a full menu of dramatically flavored pan-Asian cuisine to enjoy. I’ve heard good things about their award winning spring rolls and peppery stir fries, and my dinner companions often enjoy the noodle dishes on the menu. The sushi menu is pretty impressive as well, and they will make many of the sushi rolls gluten free.
Hungry for dessert? Why, they’ve got you covered with a few options! Always ask what the seasonal dessert is…sometimes that is gluten free as well! How gorgeous is this creme brule? I promise it was as delicious as it looks.
Molly Woos is a great place for a girls night out, date night or a “sit down” type of family meal! Their gluten free menu and attention to detail are what keep me coming back to this Fashion Place restaurant time and time again.
