As the leaves start to turn and we roll into October, it is time to think of Halloween themed food. Why not create some Spooky Halloween Pasta for your little ghouls on trick-or-treat night?
We always try to feed our children a hearty dinner before they head out the door for trick-or-treating. We often times try to create something fun. In the past we have created spooky halloween pasta. We use fun ingredients to create spooky or happy faces.
We use ingredients that our kids have eaten before and some that our kids might not be as likely to eat. We have found when they are involved in the process of cooking (or in this case creating) they are more likely to try new things!
For the pasta, we used some delicious black bean pasta from Explore Cuisine. It is made from organic black beans and cooks up in about 7 minutes! It is non-GMO. It is certified gluten-free and made in a dedicated gluten-free facility! It also carries the Vegan Society seal of approval! Best of all it is perfect for our Spooky Halloween Pasta creations!
When we cooked the Organic Black Bean Spaghetti, I had to take a picture. It looked like it was trying to crawl out of the pot!
Some of the ingredients, I did cook. I lightly sauteed the mushrooms and boiled the broccoli.
TIP: Instead of dirtying another pot, throw the broccoli into the pasta water about 3 minutes out from the spaghetti being complete.

You might want to pair this spooky main dish with a spooky dessert like Halloween Monster Cookies!
