Vegan Donuts

Vegan Donuts are easy to make and everybody in your family will be asking you to share this vegan donut recipe! It will be a hit at your next family brunch.

Ingredients

  • Coating for donut holes:
  • 1/2 cup melted vegan butter (or dairy butter)
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 T cinnamon
  • Doughnut Ingredients:
  • 1 1/3 cup gluten free flour (or AP flour)
  • 1 cup crispy gluten free cereal (or rice krispies)
  • 2 T sugar
  • 1 T baking powder
  • 1/2 t salt
  • 1/4 cup vegetable shortening
  • 1/2 cup non dairy milk (or dairy milk)

Instructions

  • In a small pan, melt butter. Pour butter into its own bowl. In a new bowl combine sugar and cinnamon. Set aside.
  • In a bowl mix flour, cereal, sugar, baking powder and salt. Fold in shortening.
  • Stir until mixture crumbly. Stir in milk.
  • Roll mixture into 1 inch balls with your hands.
  • Place donut holes on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake at 425F for 12 minutes.
  • When the vegan donuts are done baking, remove from oven.. Carefully (they will be hot) dip each ball into the melted butter, then into the cinnamon/sugar mixture.
  • ENJOY!

Notes

Air Fryer Directions:
  • Place donut holes into the air fryer. Air Fryer at 380 degrees F for 6 minutes. At the 3 minute mark, give the air fryer basket a quick shake.
  • When donut holes are done cooking, carefully remove the air fryer donut holes. Carefully (they will be hot) dip each ball into "coating mixture".
