  • Cutting board
  • Chef's knife
  • Instant Pot

  • 4 to 5 pounds apples mixed varieties
  • ½ cup sugar
  • ½ teaspoon allspice
  • ½ teaspoon nutmeg
  • ½ teaspoon cloves
  • 1 tablespoon cinnamon
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • ¼ cup water
  • 1 to 2 tablespoons cornstarch optional, to thicken if needed

  • Wash and core the apples. Slice the apple with or without skin.
  • Pour the water, sugar, allspice, nutmeg, cloves, cinnamon, salt, lemon juice, and water into the Instant Pot. Seal the lid and set the pressure cooker for High Pressure for 10 minutes.
  • When the timer goes off, let it naturally release for 10 minutes before quickly releasing the remaining pressure.
  • Use an immersion blender to blend the apple butter. You can also use a countertop blender.
  • Refrigerate before serving. The apple butter will continue thickening in the fridge.
