Hi Carol, yes once you figure out just how crunchy you want them you are set! I think a "ranch" flavor would be delish and also a cinnamon sugar!

Just made the chickpea recipe with my new air fryer and the turned out great. Had the check a few times to make sure they were as crunchie as I like. Now I’ll need to experiment with different seasonings. ( any suggestions?)

I am not sure on that but I think it would be worth a try. The only problem might be if they absorb too much liquid and take longer to cook. You can also get "no salt added" or "low sodium beans" . That will help as well :) . So glad you ate the whole batch!

I made these and ending up eating the whole batch, made from 15.5 oz. can. Very good !! My brand lists 3.5 servings per can @14% of daily sodium intake, or 49% per can. 1. Does the sodium on the nutrition label include the liquids? 2. Would soaking in addition to rinsing reduce the sodium? Thanks for your thoughts.

Hi Mark, thanks for letting me know. We are seeing that times/temps vary per machine. Sadly there seems to be a big difference sometimes. I am glad that you were able to get it to work for you with some trial and error. So very sorry that you were disappointed the first time around with what you were looking for. Thanks for letting me know!

In reply to <a href="https://vegetarianmamma.com/air-fryer-chickpeas/#comment-91161">Jude</a>.

Hi Jude! Thanks for reaching out! The chickpeas do not come out soft on the inside for me. They are crunchy. The outside is crunchier for sure but the inside texture has a crunch and is not soft. My guess, like you said is the temperature. That 54 degree temp can and it sounds like it made a difference. The closer to 400F you can get is the desired temp. How much longer did you cook them? I would think eventually they should crisp up on the side :) . Sorry you had not so good luck with this recipe in your air fryer. What type of air fryer are you using? :)

HI Cindy,

Are your chickpeas soft inside after air frying? I cooked mine longer than your recipe called for because my air fryer cooks at 336F. They turned out great on the outside but soft on the inside. Not the texture I was looking for, so just wondering about yours. Appreciate the feedback.

Cheers,
Jude

That's a great question! I haven't tried other beans yet, but I will in the future! Thanks for the idea!
