Ingredients
2large bananas
3tablespoonsbrown sugar
1tablespoonunsalted butter
Instructions
Slice the bananas into rounds approx. ¾” thick.
Add the sliced bananas and brown sugar to a bowl and toss to coat.
Melt the butter in a frying pan over a medium heat. Fry the bananas for about 4 minutes on each side until golden and caramelized.

Be sure to choose bananas that are ripe, but still firm. Overripe bananas will turn to mush when you cook them, and green bananas won't be sweet enough!
Instead of slicing the bananas into coins, try making long strips instead. The recipe is exactly the same.
Butter is ideal for making this recipe, but you can replace it with vegan butter if you'd like.
For added flavor, add a sprinkle of ground cinnamon, or a tablespoon of dark rum to the bananas before you cook them.
Use caramelized bananas as an ice cream topping, or enjoy them with pancakes, waffles, or yogurt.
Store these in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 2 days. Reheat them gently in the microwave, or enjoy cold!
