Ingredients
2ozvodka
1.5ozorange liquer
1ozlemon juicefreshly squeezed
lemon peelfor garnish
Instructions
(Optional) Place 2 tablespoons of water in a small bowl and 2 tablespoons of granulated sugar in another small bowl. Dip your glass into the water and then into the sugar. Set aside.
Fill a cocktail shaker with ice and add the vodka, orange liqueur, and lemon juice. Shake until chilled –about 30 seconds.
Strain into your prepared glass and enjoy immediately.
Notes
I’m using a small stemmed cocktail glass but you could use a champagne flute or lowball glass.
Sidecar cocktails are typically made with cognac but for this variation, we’re switching it out for vodka. Any good quality unflavored vodka will work.
Orange liqueur adds a sweet citrusy flavor to the cocktail.
Lemon juice adds additional citrus flavor and acidity to the cocktail.
