Tips and Tricks for Making Homemade Palomino Sauce
- Enjoy Palomino sauce with your favorite pasta, gluten-free pasta, or pasta substitutes like spaghetti squash or cauliflower rice.
- It's also delicious as a dipping sauce for Air Fryer Breaded Ravioli, Mozzarella Sticks, or Fried Zucchini.
- You can store this sauce in the fridge in an airtight container for up to 3 days. It can also be frozen for up to 3 months.
- Instead of marinara sauce, try this method with other types of spaghetti sauce like puttanesca sauce or bolognese.
Palomino Sauce Variations
Some people like their Palomino sauce to have a little bit of a kick to it! 1 seeded and chopped banana pepper, cooked with the onion will add a delicious extra layer of flavor if you'd like to try it.
Fresh Herbs such as parsley or basil can be added to the sauce, or chopped and added to the pasta as a fresh, green garnish.
To make vegan palomino sauce, replace the cream with canned coconut milk, and use nutritional yeast or your favorite vegan parmesan substitute.
