Air Fryer Pizza is a quick and easy air fryer recipe. Who would have thought that pizza cooked in an air fryer would be so delicious?
AIR FRYER PIZZA RECIPE
We have definitely established that I love my air fryer! I have made all kinds of air fryer recipes to date. Thinking back, you might remember my air fryer brussel sprouts, my air fryer chex mix, my air fryer donuts and my air fryer tofu noodle bowls! It hasn’t taken me long to fall in love with my air fryer!
You might be wondering, “Why should I cook my pizza in an air fryer?” I get it, good question. My response, “why not?!” In all seriousness, it takes WAY less time, especially if you are cooking frozen pizza or are using an already made dough as your pizza base.
For this pizza, I am using a pita. You can use a pita, naan or already cooked dough. Mine happens to come frozen, so I heat it in the air fryer for a couple of minutes before I decorate the pizza with toppings!
I recently shared about how easy this pizza is in my Air Fryer Facebook Group! If you are interested and on facebook, you can join our air fryer recipes group here.
One of our amazing group members asked about making naan pizza. Happened that exactly that day I had tested this recipe! Talk about perfect timing!
I love pizzas because you can put whatever toppings on it you like! This time around, I kept our pizza pretty simple!
INGREDIENTS IN AIR FRYER PIZZA
Pita - The gluten free pitas I buy come frozen and thaw out really quickly.
Pizza sauce - use your favorite!
Cheese- Mozzarella cheese is classic. Feel free to change it up with a little bit of provolone or parmesan added.
Olives - Olives are just yummy on pizza! I like sliced black and green olives.
Basil - A beautiful garnish and a fresh flavor.
If you have any questions, please leave a comment below and I will get back to you.

AIR FRYER PIZZA TIPS
- Air Fryer baskets range in size, make sure your dough fits before you load it up with toppings.
- You can prepare/top your pizza inside of the air fryer basket. That helps eliminate spills, etc when transferring your completely topped pizza to the basket.
- You can add whatever toppings you like to your pizza. If you are adding onions or bell peppers you might want to saute them first so they are already pre-softened.
- If you are putting fresh basil on your pizza, wait until your pizza has completely cooked and then add your basil. Otherwise, the fresh basil, will burn if you place it on the pizza before cooking the pizza.
- Let the pizza stand 1-2 after cooking so the cheese can set. This makes it easier to cut!
- Use a spatula or tongs to get your pizza out of the air fryer basket. Remember that the air fryer basket is VERY hot, so be careful!
- Pro Tip: You can assemble the pizzas ahead of time, freeze the pizzas and thaw to cook when you are ready!
- What air fryer should I use to this pizza? For this recipe I used the smaller sized Cosori Air Fryer.

DO I NEED A SPECIAL PIZZA PAN FOR AIR FRYER PIZZA?
Nope, you can set the pizza dough, pita, naan or whatever you are using directly onto the air fryer basket. There are small some pans available that you can use, but they are not necessary for delicious pizzas made in the air fryer!
DO I NEED TO COVER THE PIZZA WITH ANYTHING?
It is not necessary unless you place very light ingredients on the pizza that might fly off.
WILL MY PIZZA DOUGH STICK TO THE AIR FRYER BASKET?
Most air fryers have non-stick baskets, but you are welcome to brush some olive oil on the bottom of your dough before placing it into the basket.
CAN I MAKE AIR FRYER PIZZA WITH FRESH DOUGH?
If you are using fresh dough, I would suggest that you cook it first in the air fryer without any toppings. Once the dough is cooked almost all the way, you can top your pizza to finish it off.
CAN YOU REALLY COOK PIZZA IN AN AIR FRYER?
Yes, I think you can literally air fry almost anything!

Do get an air-fryer you will absolutely love having one. I use mine on a daily basis. Yesterday I made so many different recipes in my air-fryer and it all came out so delicious. I like that everything cooks in 1/2 the time and w/out using oil.
Thanks for sharing Irina! It is amazing that it cooks so quickly and with little to no oil at all! So many good things come from the air fryer!

What a great, customizeable recipe! I have to admit I got the toaster/oven/air fryer combination and I've used the air fryer function only once. I don't know why it intimates me, but these little pizzas looks like the recipe to give it another try.

Fantastic, I am so glad you loved our air fryer pizza!
Thank you for this recipe. From the picture it would seem as if you were not using the inner basket. I have often wondered if this were possible so as to cook larger items. Am I right in thinking that the air fryer can be used without the inner basket? Also, since I am vegan I use a lot of the prepared vegan foods. None of them give air fryer as a cooking medium, but I use it everytime and everything gets cooked up and past the 165f mark in a fraction of the time. Would you consider letting the makers of these vegan food items that an airfryer is a valid way of heating their items. Thanks for your recipes they are really good.
Hello Frank! I actually did use that inner basket. I think that is key for getting the full circulation of air around the food you are cooking. I bet you could probably cook without that basket but the air would not circulate as much and the food wouldn't get as crisp. I would say that the air fryer could be used in the same way as you would an oven or microwave to heat the foods. So heating your prepared vegan foods would totally work and be okay! That is a great idea! I am so happy that you are loving the recipes. I just posted a mozzarella stick recipe tonight, I need to figure out how to make it vegan. I have a few cubed vegan cheeses I want to try to use 🙂
Hi Cindy, if I’m using frozen vegetables, should I cook them partially to remove some moisture before adding them in the air fryer? Or is it better to fully cook them and add them only after the pizza is cooked?
