INGREDIENTS FOR SUGAR FREE PUMPKIN SPICE SYRUP
- Erythritol - We are using this ingredient to make our pumpkin spice syrup, sugar free. It is a sugar replacement. It is not a 1-1 replacement, however most people do use it that way and do not notice a problem. If you do not want a sugar substitute, you can use real sugar here.
- Pumpkin puree - When you're shopping, look for 100% pure pumpkin puree, not pumpkin pie filling.
- Water - Flat water is what we need here. You can use tap or refrigerated water.
- Vanilla extract - I love the extra richness and depth that vanilla extract adds to recipes! While you do use a small amount, it adds so much!
- Ground cinnamon - There's so much fall flavor packed into cinnamon. It's a great spice for both savory or sweet dishes. This will make our pumpkin spice syrup a little sweeter!
- Ground ginger - We love ground ginger because it adds another layer of flavor to this syrup!
- Ground nutmeg - As the name implies, this spice brings a little nuttiness to the mix. This syrup it totally nut-free, but you'll get a little of that toasted nut flavor thanks to nutmeg!

I am made this twice now using the Whole Foods 365 Erythritol & Monkfruit. It doesn't look syrupy lilke the picture you show for your recipe. I used the organic Pumpkin puree. Each time mine came out more like a thick milky mixture that definitely seperates quickly after it is done cooking. Am I doing something wrong? Would the Monfruit really make that big a difference?
Hello Elizabeth! Yes, the monkfruit will make a big difference, we have had not much luck at all when using it in recipes. We have found lots of fails before we find the right amount when using monkfruit in recipes. So we typically avoid it in the recipes on the site because of the problems it causes our readers. I would say that the monkfruit is the problem there :). Thanks for reaching out to check:)
