INGREDIENTS IN AIR FRYER FRIED RICE
This section explains what ingredients to use for this air fryer fried rice recipe. For full measurements and specific instructions see recipe card at the bottom of the post.
Cold rice - Choose leftover rice that's been in the refrigerator overnight. Cold leftover rice works best. If you use warm fresh rice, it will stick together and clump.
Egg - This is optional, especially if you are making this recipe vegan. Cooked scrambled egg is what we need here.
Coconut Aminos or Soy Sauce - This is the main flavor for this dish. Make sure your soy sauce is gluten free.
Frozen Veggies - any blend of frozen veggies works here. I like carrots and corn. Peas, broccoli, and beans are delicious as well.
Oil - This helps the rice crisp up in the air fryer.
If you have any questions, please leave a comment below and I will get back to you.
One of the best parts about this recipe is that is is adaptable to fit anybody’s needs! Vegan? Simply omit the egg!

WHAT TO SERVE WITH AIR FRYER FRIED RICE:
Cripsy Tofu is a prefect protein packed addition to fried rice. Crispy Tofu is such a tasty dish and has great texture. You’ll love having this fried tofu as an addition to any stir fry or as a gluten-free option to eat on its own.
Sheet Pan Lemon Tofu is another vegan dish that everyone loves in my house.
I like to make Sweet Thai Chili Tofu when I'm craving something sweet and spicy.
Air Fryer Green Beans are a great side dish that pairs well with fried rice. It reminds me of the crispy green beans at Asian restaurants.

When we started posting air fryer recipes years ago, people were so excited! It’s hard to believe so much time has passed. I think we probably were using the air fryer before it even became the “cool” new kitchen gadget that everybody loves! When it comes down to it, we have lots of air fryer recipes that we love, but a few stick out when I think about favorites!
Making Jalapeno Poppers is a huge treat when using your air fryer! You are going to love this recipe and you can even make them ahead a time (just prep them), freeze them and then thaw/cook when ready to eat! We have made this recipe time and time again. It is truly a favorite at our house, we recently updated some of the pictures. Below are some of the old images. Same recipe, same great taste, new fresh updated photos.
I made this tonight and it was delish! Better than takeout! What a fun recipe! I had all ingredients on hand!
That's a WIN Denise! So glad you loved the Air Fryer Fried Rice!
Hi Cindy
I am a fried rice freak and seldom find really good recipes that I can make myself that remind me of the awesome classic container that we get from our fav Oriental place. I own a triple deck Air Fryer Pro and followed your recipe except for the cooking time. I had a basket the air fryer people provide and lined it with foil because the slots in the basket were big enough that the rice would fall through. I found raising the temp to 375 and upping to 25-30 minutes stirring every few minute like you suggested was the best for my particular Air Fryer. I also added some home ground sausage made from pork country ribs. (1/2 lb) Your recipe for ingredients made this AWESOME. I used normal Soy. It was the BOMB girl. THANK YOU!!!
Yay Paul!! Thank you SOOOO much for coming back and letting me know how it turned out and how you made it your own. I am SOOO glad that you loved it. Enjoy Enjoy ENjoy!
where's the video? can't find it ….
Hello 🙂 If the video doesn't pop up you can see it on our youtube channel 🙂 https://youtu.be/7I-CDZfOMTE
I made this and I loved it. I used it for lunch prep just like you said on your Facebook post!
Hi Sam! So glad you saw it on our FB post then tried it! It is delish!
Yummy! Eventhough I didn’t realize you should scramble eggs first haha it came out great! Big hit with hubby who is a fried rice connoisseur!
Yay, I am so glad he liked it. Maybe you discovered a new way! ha, it just might work better!! I wouldn't have thought that air fried rice would be so good but man its tasty! That crunch, so good!
Do the eggs/tofu need to be cooked before you put in the air fryer? Thank you!
Hi Shauna, yes any protein you use (meat, tofu, eggs) should be cooked ahead of time 🙂
Made this tonight and my family couldn't get enough! So delicious.
Can fresh veggies be used instead of frozen? I find frozen vegetables are often soggy and mushy! I prefer crisp but cooked.
Yes, you can, you may need to extend the cooking time or "par" cook them a bit before adding them in 🙂
I’ve made this recipe twice, once with SanJ Tamari and Once with Kikkoman Gluten Free Soy Sauce, came out great both times! I don’t have a bowl appropriately sized for the air fryer that’s also heat safe so I just line it with parchment and trim so the edges don’t go more than an inch from the top of the basket.
Hello!! That is a great tip for the parchment!! Thank you for sharing and thanks for coming back and commenting 🙂
useless, gives you no times or temperatures of any kind, why was my time wasted
If you kindly look at the recipe card at the bottom of the post you will find the recipe times and temperatures. You can use the jump to recipe button at the top. It is there, you just didn't look at the recipe card. You actually scrolled past it when you came to write this comment 😉 Just incase you can't locate it again when you look, it is step #6. Here is the information: Place that container into your air fryer. Cook the air fryer fried rice at 360 degrees F for 15 minutes. I would suggest stirring 3 times through the 15 minutes.
Hi Robin, first off thank you for coming back and leaving a comment and rating, that is SO helpful for other people who are debating on trying the recipe! This is one of my favorites! It is a perfect way to use left over rice and so glad you loved the bacon bits too! We LOVE making it for lunch prep. Makes a quick and easy lunch fore all week!
First recipe in my Ninja 4 in 1 and the fried rice came out so well. Thank you
What's that cute little round pan you put in the air fryer?
I got it on amazon, search for "air fryer pot" 🙂 You can also use any oven safe dish that fits in your air fryer 🙂
