INGREDIENTS IN AIR FRYER CHEX MIX
Corn Chex - Gluten free and extra crunchy.
Rice Chex - the other type of chex that is gluten free, these are a bit airy and crispy.
Pretzels - Use your favorite shape, I like these twists, but sticks work well too.
Pumpkin Seeds - These add a little bit of nutritional value and a nice flavor.
Garlic Salt - Yum! this is the main flavor of this mix. You can add other seasonings if you like too.
Butter - Coats all of the pieces and let's everything get nice and toasty.

- Next, melt the butter and pour over the mixture. Stir to coat.
- Add in the garlic salt, stir to coat.
- Cook in the air fryer as directed in the recipe. When cooking has finished, let the mixture cool. Then ENJOY!
These numbered steps match the numbered photos above and are for illustration purposes. For the complete list of ingredients and instructions, please see the recipe below.
TIPS FOR AIR FRYER CHEX MIX
- If you have an air fryer basket with bigger holes, you may need to wait and add the pumpkin seeds AFTER the chex mix has cooked. Otherwise, you may lose them through the holes and the seeds will get stuck in the bottom basket.
- If you like wheat chex and you are not gluten free, you can sub that in.
- You can use dairy or dairy free butter for this air fryer chex mix.
HOW DO I CLEAN MY AIR FRYER?
That is a great question and it will vary by model. I honestly get this question a lot!
For our power fryer Xl and Cosori Air Fryer we have a removable inner basket. So we can hand wash each basket individually.
It is listed on the new ones in the instruction manual that the basket is dishwasher safe. Be sure to check your manual.
HOW TO CLEAN YOUR AIR FRYER – STEP BY STEP
- Unplug your air fryer from the outlet. While this might seem like common sense, it is worth mentioning as it is very important.
- Let your air fryer completely cool down. There is no need to immediately clear your machine right after use. It is dangerous and you can easily burn yourself!
- Wipe the outside of your oil less fryer with a damp cloth. The cloth should be wet enough to gently wipe away food or grease but it should not be dripping with moisture.
- Remove the basket container. Your basket should have two parts. Be sure to remove the inner basket from the outer basket, when cool. Gently scrub each basket with soap and water. Many new air fryer models have dishwasher safe baskets!
- If the inside of your air fryer is dirty, you can wipe it down with a damp sponge.
- Check the heating element of your fryer. You might need to gently turn the machine upside down to easily see and access the air fryer heating element. You can use a damp sponge to clean or a soft brush.

For sure this Air Fryer Chex Mix is perfect for the holidays!
I usually put some Worcestershire sauce in my Chex mix trash that I bake in the oven. Wonder if adding some in with this recipe would work in the air fryer?
Yes, I think it would!
Hello. I just tried your Chex Mix in the rotating basket of my Pampered Chef Deluxe Air Fryer. It worked beautifully. We like ours a little saltier and a little spicy, so I added more salt and some cayenne pepper, along with some Worchestershire sauce. This was WAY easier than the old way of putting it in the oven, taking it out and stirring, putting back in, taking it out, stirring... you know the drill. It was also much faster. I have a feeling my husband is going to be asking for this all the time now. LOL! Thank you!
Yay, Kelly thank you SO much for coming back and letting me know. That also helps other readers!! The rotating basket is so great!! I've heard wonderful things about the pampered chef unit as well!! Yay, so glad!
Thank you for the information. Just another reason I love my air fryer. I appreciate all the help in learning about the air fryer.
